Default why V1 isnt sold in stores, just online

hi I always wanted to know this, why is it that V1 is only sold online and not in stores like the cobra beltronics, and escort. For example escort sells at bestbuy, beltronics sells at circuitsity, and cobra sells at radio shack and both best buy, and circuitcity.

Well . . VR has top notch tech support and this way they don't have to worry about any slums not having up to date information.

How many times you walk into best buy and them be the most moronic people in the world. VR maintains its Reputation and nothing can hurt it except themselves. They seem to be doing just fine with online and phone orders only. I doubt they'll change it any time soon.

Plus, with them constantly doing upgrades - they know its the newest when it ships.

But if they sell to retail. . the retailer might be selling an old version.

The reputation of V1 sells itself and they don't have to deal with retailers.

This may be part of it. In NZ VR have stopped selling things like remote displays, remote audio, cords and mounts to a company called Radar Direct. Ash to Dude that runs the shop didn't say why but I was kinda thinking it's because the mark up they stick on like $200 NZ ($160 US) for a remote display! Really these people see a quality products and charge like a etc etc. Maybe VR are trying to control there reputation or they just don't want to be involved in a rip off. Unlike some other detector makers (for the record Rocky mountain Radar).
They also sell bells at really crazy prices too but that company don't seem to have any prob's with behavior

They are able to keep the quality up and deal more effectively with Customer Service issues/updates by keeping things "in house". They seem to be more interested in "quality" rather than "quantity" (mass market ie circuit city, best buy etc).

Valentine One isn't mass Produced like the others and the mark up value for stores probably would be over $500.
