Weird Ka/J occurrence this morning

This morning, when leaving for work, as soon as I turned off my street onto another street, there was a white Taurus in front of me and my V1 started sounding Ka, which it promptly Jed out. I figured the Taurus had an el-crappo RD in it, though I didn't see anything on its windshield. What was strange about this encounter, though, was a few seconds after the J I started getting Ka again for a few seconds. This all happened on a back road that is unlikely to have a real LEO nearby, and I've never gotten Ka or a J-out in this spot before. The Ka was weak, and never came back, so I doubt it was from a LEO at all.

I just wonder why it would have Jed out a false and then alerted to Ka again just a couple seconds later. Maybe two el-crappos? There was only one car other than me on the road at the time. Just curious...

I was worried about that too. I was driving down I-80 and I kept getting Ka and then the J would come up. But then about a mile down the road there was a cop pulling over a car on the oncoming lanes. I always take the Js as if they're real because of this.

If you really worry about J-ing out real threat, just turn off J feature

There is a difference between the "J" option and the "J" alerts you receive on your V1. You can turn off the "J" option for POP which will decrease the amount of "J" alerts you receive but it will not turn off the "J" alerts completely.

If you turn off option #6, you'll be driving 5 under psl all the time. Way too many false Ka's with #6 off.

IMO never turn off option 6. Dont recall where but I think Jim mentioned this once.

I always keep my ka guard on. When turned off, it falses quite a bit. Keep it on!

Talked to mike at VR a couple weeks ago about the J alert and his answer was " the J alert feature is not perfect". You just have to be cautious when you get a Ka alert even if it J's it. Very good CS experience all the time at VR.
