    Default V1 Settings Conflict

    B C D - Sets up the auto mute of K band.... 3 seconds to default 10

E and F - sets when to unmute either default at 4 or mute at 6 (this is confusing.. so when will it start alertin me?)

can someone explain this to me?

I set the B C D to auto mute after 3 seconds and stay muted at 4 lights (so will it begin beeping at 6 lights?

i tried it and K band still alerts at full volume

    help

E and F are on by default.

E unmutes K band alerts that start out at 4 bars or higher. If the alert starts at less than 4 bars and creeps up over 4, this unmute doesn't occur. Think of E as an instant on mute override.

F unmutes K band alerts that reach 6 bars or higher. Even if the alert starts at less than 4-6 bars, it will always unmute as soon as it reaches 6 bars. Think of F as a strong signal mute override.

Both E and F are enabled by default if 7 is enabled. Turning them off will disable the respective unmutes, and then unmuting will only occur after the specified number of seconds as specified by b, C, and d.

E or F so if the signal starts out at 1 -4 or 1-6 then it will be mute until it reaches the respective threshold… 4 or 6?

B C D what does this do in relation to E and F? - will mute after a given number of seconds

    When does E F(auto unmute) conflict with B C D(auto mute)?

Assuming E and F are enabled (default):

Signal starts at 1-3 - alert is muted for the amount of time specified by B C D, then it unmutes.

Signal starts at 4 or higher (instant on radar) - alert is NOT muted at all; it will sound at the normal unmuted volume (per option E).

Signal starts below 4 but then it rises to 6 or higher (approaching a radar trap) - alert will become unmuted as soon as it reaches 6 bars (per option F).
B C D what does this do in relation to E and F? - will mute after a given number of seconds
B C D specifies how long before an automatically muted signal is unmuted. If set to 3 seconds, for example, any K band signal that remains for more than 3 seconds will become unmuted after 3 seconds. This occurs regardless of E and F. E and F specify conditions that will unmute the alert before the time expires.
    When does E F(auto unmute) conflict with B C D(auto mute)?
They never conflict per se; E and F override the mute. If the signal starts below 4 bars (E) and never reaches 6 bars, the alert unmutes after the time specified by B C D. If the signal reaches 6 bars, or starts out at 4 bars, the signal will be unmuted immediately regardless of B C D.

B C D- the alert will mute after the given number chosen? (like the 8500 X50?)

    Example:B C D= 3
3 seconds after an alert it will automaticaly mute?

UNmute, not mute. The alert starts out muted, then after 3 seconds goes to normal volume.

The idea is that K band falses are usually weak and brief, so this automute feature is intended to filter out such falses, without risking muting a real radar encounter. That said, VR recommends only using the automute if you are traveling where there are a lot of K band false alerts.
