    Default Big L & Little l question...

When programming the V1 to mute K band alerts does it matter which mode you have your unit in? Big L or Little l? Or do they both do the same thing, only if you use Big L do you get more filtering for X band?

    i got it

logic - alerts immediately at lower volume until either 4 leds light up or set time it up. then goes full volume

advanced logic - stays silent untill 4 leds light up or set time is up. than goes full volume.

Fucco, I believe you are incorrect.

The volume that it is alerted at depends on your mute setting - if you have it silence when you hit mute, than it won't make a peep until after 4 LED's regardless.

In Logic - it will alert to your muted volume(unless you have it on silence setting) and display the lights until it hits 4. Than it will become full volume unless a mute button was hit any time during the alet.

IN Advanced Logic - It will NOT alert you or display anything till it is above 4 LED's, at which point it will become full volume and remain on the display until the alert is gone.

The lower volume aler is the mute volume....I always keep my unit in Logic mode around town and the mute volume silent so I can visually see the alerts as soon as the detector gets them...This way I can slow down early if I am getting an early alert from the usual false spots

I consider using auto-mute with big L is a dangerous combination on highway. It is extremely useful for city driving though since i usually don't and can't speed due to traffic.

If you're going to use auto-mute, use it with small l.

X2 with the little L thing. You shuld be able to see what your V1 is picking up, just incase. IO can be a killer.

IMO no matter what you should use A mode on the freeway, and if you are traveling into an area you dont know you should have all bands enabled, just to be safe.

l mode shows you the alert but will alert the audio at the set mute volume, you have a few time and strength settings to choose from. I believe its either 4 or 6 on the strength and anywhere from 5 sec to 30 sec.

L mode will not show you anything or sound to anything until your user set prefrences.

    Clear, concise, excellent advise!

Typically what you say about using logic mode (l) around town and (A) mode on the freeway works best but not in drone infested K band areas. (opposite here)
I know when I am using (L) mode with my maximum settings K band is completely dead for 30 seconds, to some this might seem extreme however once you have experienced being hit with a partial or full tone instant on blast on K band every few seconds or minutes by drone radar when here in CA the highway patrol use Ka and laser only.
Mine is set up to totally silence regular K band volume only (all 8 signal strength LED's) my options are seeing all the LED's from the drones hitting me in the front and back if I choose logic mode (l) or nothing at all for 30 seconds in (L) mode.
