Default Logic mode (|_) and K-band

I've been playing with Logic mode (little L) for the past few days and I kind of like it. One thing I've noticed, though, is that it does mute some K-band falses. They show up, just at reduced volume. Anybody else notice this? Or am I, as usual, the only one with a V1 that actually filters K-band?

    i agree

i am liking the small L as well

i like how it mutes X when it has low signal

i also notice weak K being muted... is this right?

As far as I can tell. The only reason that I bring it up is that VR has always claimed that logic and advanced logic work on X-band only. However, even my pre-upgrade unit seemed to be filter on K-band. Not much, mind you, but enough to notice. |_ mode is nice because it reduces the annoyance of false alarms but you can still see what it's doing. I think that advanced logic filters the exact same way except that instead of reporting at a muted volume, those signals go away entirely.

small "l" works similar to "A" but it just alerts at the lowered volume set by the fader ring.
"L" does affect k band if option "7" is changed.
    Here's the test results.

Here's the link to the settings. note that the instructions for option "7" specify that it is for k band.

This has also been confirmed with emails from VR.

Also the book is way outdated.

Good point, that revision has a problem with option 7. it's supposed to be fixed with 3.825. i have another email in to VR to confirm this, plus some other stuff.
    brick,
i just noticed you have 3.824, that must be why it doesn't seem to work on yours.

I'm not talking about the K-band automute options. I'm just talking about plain-vanilla logic mode.

Maybe there's a connection there, due to the firmware bug? Maybe instead of option "7" not working at all, maybe it's always "on" instead of always "off"?

Interesting thought. I don't think it's so consistent as to be an automute option, though. I mean, what I see it doing with K-band is like the filtering of X-band except much more gets through.
