    Default Remote/External mount of V1

Given some rumours of some heat issues, has anyone actually done a remote mount/external of the V1 using like the A-Bond or another external enclosure ? I'd think that if it has issues with heat inside, then would mounting it behind the grill/air intake exacerbate the problem ?

There are many reasons for attempting this rather than utilizing one that is explicitly built for external use. I own several valentines so thats one and am used to them. Their performance speak for themself, and I can forgo the rear detection/laser that they have. I need to possibly look at a hidden/stealth mount as its Virginia, and I have issues with IR glass in my car which cuts out all RF signals except for a small cut out in the windshield that is easily visible.

Any feedback from people who have used the A-bond or another external enclosure mount with a V1 would be appreciated.

The remote A-bond V1 stealth kit has been proven for few years now in EU (France, Germany mostly) and also in hot countries in the US.
The important thing is to locate the V1 case in an area that does not feel direct heat from radiator, the prefferd place is where you have the fog lights for example.
The on dashboard location can be even warmer then fender install.

There's a company that 'makes' a Hidden V1 radar detector for remote mounting. All it really is is a V1 in a weatherproof box.

Yep, this is all you need a good durable waterproof case to house the V1 inside.

    No space age technology needed...

A guy on the GTO forums mounted an 8500 in a platic bag and tapped wires off the display. You could do it easily with the concealed display. He claims it still works.
