The V1 Cable should extend long enough for nearly any purpose, even RV's... or I would suggest hardwiring the unit.

Any standared telephone cord will work as a V1 cable.

    x2,

s70rmp: Phone cords also utilize the RJ-11 style connection (and honestly... many people on the site use the telephone cords.) Just make sure they are of decent-to-high quality... not bargain basement stuff.

Over ~20 ft. the voltage drop will be significant enough that the V1 won't operate properly. If you need a really long run, make your own using lower resistance wire.
