Default Yet Another "Look at my V1 install" Thread...

Yeah, yeah, yeah - another "Look at my V1 install" thread...

But I did one thing different. Before I show my hand, though, I'd like to say that I've been helped a lot by this forum and just about everything I did is covered somewhere else on this site somewhere. With that said, I won't bother boring anyone with wire routings and such. Just the finished install. And if I did something wrong, input would be appreciated!

    Mounted level above RVM

Remote display in the gauge cluster (in front of tach)

    And the promised oddball item,

Foot Switch for muting the V1 My car didn't come with a dead pedal and I wanted to be able to mute the V1 without having to reach for a switch, so I thought I would kill 2 birds with 1 stone. The pedal is hinged on the bottom, so I can't accidentally hold it down. I actually have to lift my heel off the floor about 3 inches before the switch gets actuated!

Sorry about not tucking away the serial cable next to the foot switch - it's for my GPS receiver. I forgot to hide it before I took the picture.

Admittedly not the slickest install, but I thought I would let you all see what I got out of this forum and say thanks for all the help!

Foot switch is McMaster-Carr P/N 7376K2. I have it wired to the two "pass-through" holes around the mute switch in the remote display. Saw the idea for a remote mute switch somewhere here on the forum - just took it a "step" further

How did you make it so the wire does not hang down?

On the V1 or on the foot switch?

For the V1, the wire is tucked into the headliner and routed down the A-pillar to my power point.

For the foot switch, you can kind of see that the wire comes out the "bottom" of the switch. I just routed the wire behind the switch, up behind the plastic pieces of the lower dash, up next to the steering column, and to the remote display. The foot switch is just secured to the floor using velcro, so there was just enough room behind the switch to run the two wires.
