Sorry for not replying soon, we were awaiting for more details. Nevertheless, the following is a response from engineering:
A likely explanation is that the police officer is triggering both his front and rear guns simultaneously. The guns would intentionally operate on slightly different frequencies to preclude mutual interference, and would thus generate two alerts.
