    Default V1 suction cup info

Some useful info I got from Valentine concerning their suction cups.

"Be sure to clean your windshield with a non-soap cleaner; one with ammonia. Soap leaves a film. Use inexpensive paper towels or newspaper. More expensive towels contain lanolin that will leave a film. Do not moisten or lick the suction cups because the next time the cups will not stick. You can rub your thumb around the cups before attaching. When you attach the cups to the windshield, get the suction and then tug back on the detector to increase the suction. Take your suction cups and drop them in almost boiling water for just a few seconds. This will restore the shape."

probibly because the bigger ones hold it more secure to the window..

more so when you mount it high!

if you mount it just off the dash it it comes off it wont fall far where as you need strong suckers if your mounting it high because if it falls off its liable to either hurt you and break or both!

you dont want the v1 coming off the window when your at high speed now do you!

    Default V1 Suction Cups

I've found that rubbing my finger across my nose or forehead and then rubbing the suction cups works fantastic. Even on VERY cold mornings they stick great.

That's an excellent way to take down the head on an overly-foamy keg beer, too! We called it "nose grease."

How about just using microfiber cloths to clean window. No chemicals or cleaners needed.
The suction cups seem to get out of shape and when left on the windshield because I don't like to have to recalibrate the compass all the time I know the sun will get to them sooner or later.

Why not moisten them? I find they stick better, and every time. Mine just fell off the window when I tried them dry.
