    Default Firmware upgrade info

Just an FYI that you can now order the 3.825 firmware upgrade online at v1's site. when you enter your serial number it will say the following:

Our Euro Mode Upgrade* for this series of V1 will produce the following benefits:

    * Improved performance on European photo radar:

You will enjoy longer radar range and fewer false alarms in European driving. Euro Mode adapts V1’s radar sensitivity to the way radar is used for photo enforcement in Europe. It narrows and intensifies radar coverage to K and the sections of Ka bands applied there to photo radar. X band is not covered in Euro Mode. (V1 is already optimized for North American radar as it comes from the factory. Euro Mode is not appropriate for driving here.)

This upgrade will install the Euro Mode but you must activate it. To activate, see http://www.valentine1.com/lab/MikesLabRpt3.asp

    * One-year limited warranty starting at upgrade date, same as new units.

-- Upgrade to Euro Mode: As soon as we receive your old unit (in operable condition with no tampering of the serial number) we’ll install revised firmware, then return it to you in the shortest possible time with a new serial number to indicate its revised capability.

    PRICE: $75 plus shipping

I'm sorry, I think this has been answered before, but I really looked and couldn't find it. I just had my V1 upgraded, and I want to know if it's 3.824 or 3.825. They received it on June 21 and I got it back this week. When I go to their site it says I have the latest 1.8 or whatever, but doesn't give any specific number.
Some people say that they're the same except for the euro mode but others say that 3.825 fixed problems with J warning. Either way, I paid $75 so I want the latest version. If someone can just tell me how to find out the version or give me a link to where this is answered it would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

    I. How to enter the Programming Mode.

Starting with the Control Knob in the "off" position, Press and hold-in Knob and at the same time turn the Knob “on;” continue holding in the Knob until all front-panel lights are on (takes about 5 seconds).
    Release the Control Knob.

II. How to determine your software version.
Press and immediately release the Control Knob to display software version. The software-version number is four digits that display one digit at a time in the Bogey Counter-example: 2.869.

Press and immediately release the Control Knob to exit software-version display.

Thanks a lot. Luckily I did get 3.825. It's really hard being without it for 10 days so it'd really suck to have to send it back already.
