Default Best Place to mount in Truck

    Guys,
Where would the best place to mount my detector be, I have the factory tint band above my windshield. Does higher= better? Also i have a tool box in my bed which blocks about half of the rear window, is that going to totally slaughter my rear detection?

Using the search function is very helpful for this site, but higher is better for radar and lower is better for laser unless u have a V1 of course. For the tool box, if its metal then it will probably block some rear detection, just depends if it has a clear line of sight or not.

I think ill try to mount it higher then. If my toolbox totally blocks that rear sensor then I guess the V1 rear sensor wont do much good in my case.

Yea with the V1, mounting high is better anyway, plus its a beast on laser so u shouldnt have any problems, hardwiring high is the best place for the V1.

Yea, laser is pretty much the ONLY reason that I bought this detector. My 8500 X50 ate Ka and K for breakfast, but when cops stopped using it, and started using laser guns it was borderline useless and I lost confidence in it.

His setup looks nice, i have mine pretty much in the same spot, i have some room above the RVM so i have mine there. Just below the tint band.

The only thing that would keep me from putting it there is about 1/2 the detector sensor is covered and it looks like the little storage compartment would block the rear sensor a bit.
