Here is a killer story for you:
Tonight i was driving home and I turn onto a street that is like a semi-highway but not quite.
Almost immediately I get a faint ka band from the rear on the V1. There is a Chevy truck driving behind me and the signal persists but then goes away when ever i get more then 100 ft or so in front of the truck. I assume that maybe its a Crapra leaking? Anyway, this persists for a few minutes but I play it safe just in case and continue to drive the speed limit. I eventually get way ahead and the signal goes away until he catches back up and then it starts again. That was the really weird thing because I was almost sure he had a crap detector. I let him pass but I didn't see anything inside.
THIS IS WHERE THE FUN STARTS:
The truck has now passed me but the rear arrow is still on. In fact, this guy is way past me now and the ka is still softly going. I was also at the street where I could turn off for my destination but I said hey, I smell something interesting about to unfold. I went ahead and parked on the side of the road and the signal disappeared after about 20 seconds.
I decided to turn around and go back the other way and then it starts up again so I park again after backtracking a quarter of a mile.
The signal slowly starts to ramp up and pretty soon the signal strength is fully lit up (I have more sensitive ka enabled). It lasted at full ramp up for probably 30-45 seconds and then the LEO finally passed. I'm pretty sure he was running a 34.7 stalker since that is what they use around here.
Anyway, the V1 must have originally picked this guy up from a few miles away because from the time I picked him up, turned around, and eventually met up with him must have been a few minutes.
The V1 has made me a Zombie, can you blame me????
By the way, can anyone explain to me how this would have unfolded without the extra sensitive ka. Would it have ramped up slower? (i realize it doesn't actually affect the radar sensitivity, just the signal meter sensitvity)
The funny thing is that at full ramp up I was like dayng, where is this guy. It seemed like it took forever.
