Default 3.862 revision, can anyone let us know how it is working?

Since I see there is a 3.862 revision now, I wanted to hear from some V1 users that have this revision #. Any takers?

Yes, please let us know what your experiences are, specifically, if you turn x off and leave pop on, do you get a random x alert like the 3.861?

Not all people are experiencing this random "x'ing" or "j'ing) on 3.861. I had it happen once But i think pop was turned on. I have never seen it since I had pop turned off (many months now)

I have 3.862, but I can't speak for the past revisions, as I haven't had a V1 for well over 1.5 years, but I recently purchased the 3.862 on Tuesday of last week and received it this past Thursday.

Thus far, I have detected a K Band speed sign at 2.6 miles out, but with a continuous signal at 2.1 miles out. I also have a Whistler Pro-78 (being repaired) and it only detected the signal .7 miles out. The V1 range is simply incredible.

Also, I was traveling west bound I-10 and I detected a police car with KA band pulled over on the side of the road, with his rear radar antenna on. I picked him up .7 mile away (he was on the opposite side and had the radar going in the opposite direction) and once I passed him, the arrows of course went to the back, but I was able to keep a constant detection of 1.3 miles out.

I did turn off X band. No need for it where I live.

    Hope this helps.

Can you get it on video? I want to see the V1 detect the K band speed sign 2.6 miles while the Pro 78 only .7 miles

I can try, but it's an area that I don't frequent too often. The speed signs have been in place since the beginning of construction of that particular strech of the interstate under repair, but the repairs have sinced finished and the speed signs remain.

If you look in the Whistler forum, you will find my post that explains all the problems I have had with the PRO-78. The main unit board is being replaced right now. I do know I did have a defective unit (PRO-78), which may be the reason the PRO-78 only detected the speed sign .7 miles away, but either way, I'm confident that the V1 provides me with more than double the range of detection.

I've tried the V995, X50, PRO-73 and PRO-78. Nothing IMO, comes closes to the V1. Sure, all of these other detectors are quieter than the V1 (factory settings), but none of them provide the range and arrows like the V1. I'm sorry I left the V1 for a while, but I am fortunate that I didn't receive a ticket while I experimented.

I have NO DOUBT that V1 provides superior range than the Pro 78 BUT not double REAL WORLD range. This I can assure you 100%. If your unit is working right The Pro 78 will provide you about 75% of REAL WORLD range than the V1. I will do some video proving this.

by VR updating the software, can doing that somehow increase range or sensitivity????

sounds like sensitivity and range has more to do with the hardware then the software...
