V1 updates info wanted

i am planning to buy V1 , how often do they have updates and do i need to send it every time to update.

i dont mind sending but i hope it is not like windows xp getting updates every week i hope..... :shock:

any info on this will help me.

Lately it has been one every 3 months or so. It has gone from 3.826 to 3.862 in less than a year I think.

It is a very good unit regardless of the version number

Just because it gets updated dies not mean you need to send it in for the new software. A lot of people, including myself are very happy with older software versions. I use the 3.813, which is the last version before POP was introduced. I recently sent it in for a tune up and specifically requested that they DO NOT upgrade the unit in any way. When something works good for you, there is no need to change it. I have had several saves in just the last few weeks with my unit. The arrows and bogey counter have been the decisive factor in those saves as well. V1 can't be beat.

Good luck with your purchase and don;t sweat the upgrades.

Yeah I have the newest version and love it. I have pop off and x off and have had many saves with it. The range is amazing. I've had other detectors before, you can check my signature, and I definitely like this one the best. The arrows are awesome.

Yeah, got my repaired V1 back from VR and turn on my V1 and saw that. :shock:

I have yet to put much mileage on my V1 but will give her a try later tonight or tommorrow using the speed sign(KA 33.8) as a test.

So far, everything seems to be working great.
