Default Tune up my 3.813 or buy new-UPDATED

Which would you do? I just got a 3.813 off ebay and following the Staton's advise I sent it out to Valentine the same day for a tune up. Should I tune up for $45 or for $40 more than that go ahead and get the latest and greatest upgrade to 3.863?

Does anyone know if you get a warranty with an upgrade?

oh no the whole point of finding the 3.813 was to keep it at 3.813

just pay the $45 dollars if it needs it and get her tuned up. get it back by this time next week and enjoy the hell out of it.

let us know how you like her, and congrats on finding the legend!! and if for some reason you don't I'll buy it just let me know! but I have a feeling you will love it.

I say keep it real with the 3.813

I got mine tuned up and it is great. No J's or E's or any other letters like BS. Just great detection!

I got my 3.813 back today and started driving around with it. I turned x off for now because my city uses K and KA. It is easy enough to turn back on if I am on the interstate. I turned off the rear K band antenna also and it is very quiet. I have almost no falses around town today. I am thinking about trying the K band mute for 20 seconds tomorrow to see how that works. I am really happy so far. I got one alert on K band and it was from so far away I thought I had a false until it went to about 6 on the signal strength. No KA yet but I will keep looking. If I can get the sensitivity and range I have been reading about with the very few falses I have had so far I will never get another detector. So far so good.

Just got my V1 back from being tuned up. X band was getting a little weak and Ka 35.5 was a little bit off. No longer. I have had some incredible alerts on 34.7, and 35.5 GHz detection is significantly better too! There was no charge for the tuneup even though I am well out of warranty. You cannot beat that customer service.

I agree Better than paying more than that for a "bug fix" that "never existed" with another unmentioned company

Probably because the cops only use one type of ka in his area...Which is the same with me I know what Ka freq all Baltimroe county leo stalker guns uses .... I also tested mine with the belscorts to confirm this %100 to say the least

What's wrong with the 3.863's? I'm about to get one of those brand new. Should I not?
