Okay, my V1 is new and it's my first experience owning a RD, however, I've done a fair amount of reading here and watching vids as well.
My trip to work takes me on the freeway where I have no locations for falses from buildings. It never makes a sound on the freeway, well, until yesterday. I was about 1 and 1/2 miles from my exit ramp in an area where no exit/entrance ramps are and the walls along the freeway are actually very high. All of the sudden the V1 goes off big time at what appeared to be full strength and in K band (maybe Ka?). I was moving along pretty good and switching lanes to get ready for my exit, so it was difficult to see whether it was in fact K or Ka. It wasn't laser. Anyhow, a few seconds after it went quiet. Oh, and the arrow was forward, never back or side.
The only thing was an overpass above that doesn't have exits/entrance ramps. I kinda wonder if they weren't up there pointing down and calling ahead to the next entrance ramp.
