    Default Hello and V1 issue

I have a problem with my newly purchased V1, Remote audio adapter and concealed display.

I have it hooked up according to diagram number two in the owners manual:

    V1 ----> remote audio adapter --> direct-wire Power Adapter --> concealed display

I have the power adapter connected to an add-a-circuit that I got at Auto Zone and have it connected to an open fuse in the fuse box of my 350z.

Now when turning on the unit from the remote audio adapter the radar detector turns on and lights up(it shouldn't do that) but I get nothing from the concealed display?

I've checked and rechecked all my connections(this isn't the first radar detector I've hard-wired). I've even hooked up the remote display and the radar detector to the lighter adapter with the same results.

So did I receive a DOA concealed display?

    Thanks

hm...try another wiring diagram from the manual, that one where remote audio adapter doesn't control the V1 power.
If still no sucess, then tell VR about it.You will pay only for shipping,
if you decide to send everything to VR.

    Already tried that.

I'm going to give them a call on Monday for sure.

is that how you wired it? figure # 4?

if so you might have gotten a defective one.

    keep us updated.

I would suggest checking the wiring you used to make sure it has 4-wires, not just 2 as some phone extension cables have

    Nope, I used number two.

Update: I went to the drag strip tonight and before I left I was messing with it again and took the Audio Remote out of the loop and hooked the Conceal Display and the V1 to the lighter adapter and the conceal display worked(The number 3 diagram in the manual)?

So I've come to the conclusion that either my Audio remote is defective or I'm some how not getting enough juice through that 10amp add-a-circuit I have running from my fuse box. I need a voltmeter.

did you / are you going to try diagram #4? that's what you have to use...

did you see the note at #4?

Remote Audio Adapter does NOT control power to the main unit, but it will turn the Concealed Display off and on.

I'm going to try number four but that's not exactly how I wanted to hook it up. I'll try it tonight once it cools off some and report back.

This is the most frustrating thing I've messed with in awhile.

I hooked it up according to diagram #4 and everything works except the concealed display. The only thing I'm getting on the display are 4 signal bars that are barely lit. No mode display or anything else.

I thought maybe I wasn't getting enough power to it and hooked it up to the 4-gauge amp wire and still getting the same results.

    I'm at a loss.
