    Default Best way to mute?

The V1 in little l mode is too chatty when I'm near shopping centers to have it unmute at 4 bars. If I set it to 6, I almost got a ticket because the scenario was one that none of us want to deal with...

Cop speed trapping it up using K band, next to a shopping center with multiple K band bogeys. He was hiding around a curve, so the V1 ramped up quick and I almost got a ticket. He gave me a nasty look, so I bet he was thinking of pulling me over, or because I slammed on the brakes, maybe it made his old K band gun act weird? I was doing 7 over in a local village where they pull over for 3-4 over (speed trap land!)...

I had it in little l mode and I was ignoring the alert (even though it was muted) and then all of a sudden, it came out of mute when it hit six dots and I was thinking, "hmm, what's going on" and then I realized it must be a cop ahead and slammed the brakes and saw the cop right around the curve in a stationary spot as it happened.

it will be better to keep at 4 led and L, most of the alerts will not even be shown below 4 led with 10 sec mute on, and you will have enough protection with 4 led.

It still makes too much noise if I do that, because I usually get 4-6 K band bogeys.

It happens on the normal parts of the roads here in NY.

I just recently added a mute button that I mounted behind my blinker/brights switch. Its so conveniently located that muting becomes hassle free. I actually started driving around in A where as before I had 30s 6bar automute.

Search ebay to see what it looks like. I made mine, but its the same as the one on e-bay selling for $15. "V1 mute" or something like that.

if you mute the detector, will it unmute if a stronger signal comes through?

I was playing around with the v1 mute when I had 3 K bogeys from sensors and noticed that I get a loud bogey lock when I find another sensor but returns back to mute.

Mute Rear K band and stay on 4 LED threshold 30 sec mute with muted volume at 12 or 1 o'clock. Try playing with the muted volume at your preference. I set mine on 12 o'clock where you can still hear it and use small L. Refrain from using big L.

X2, I just did the same thing.

I was also going to make the switch, but I saw the ebay one (I think it was under $10 IIRC) & being lazy I ordered that instead & it works super.
