Well, I ended up taking the dive and bought a V1 off of eBay (yeah yeah) that came with the latest revision and box.
Anyways, I had a Bel rx65 before I bought a v1, and the rx65 did a good job for how long I had it (2 months, 4-5 saves). I decided to go with a V1 due to all the praises it received, better(?) IO detection, and the arrows.
All too often I would run into an alert and not know where it's coming from with the rx65. Needless to say, this irritated me.
I've only had the V1 for one day, and since I live in the boons, I doubt I'll see much action for a while (till my Thanksgiving trip). However, I wanted to comment on the arrows.
Jeez, confusing little sucker for someone who hasn't had a v1. The rx65 would just alert and display multiple signals whereas the V1 shows where all those signals are coming from. Got up to 6 bogey's in my hometown (too many door openers near the road) on advance logic.
I took some advice from the forum and enabled the K rear automute w/ 30 second|4 LED threshold w/ pop disabled. Still trying to tweak and learn it. I need to spend more time playing with the K automute to make sure it's working right for me. I think I'll put it in the Logic (big L) mode when I go back to my hometown to reduce those K bogey's in the back.
My only complaint in the short time using the v1 is the signal alert. It's pretty hard identifying bands in the dark (and if there's multiple bands). I know I could get a modified v1 display, but that'll have to wait. It'd have been nice if the LED lit up the X, K, KA letters next to the dot as well.
I have to say tho, the autodim is a nice touch. The V1 is real life is much much smaller than I imagined from the pictures. Guess I'll go find a door opener that I can test the range out on haha.
Just a question tho: If I set up the K band automute, it has no effect on the front antenna right?
