    Default V1 pictures

    I recently installed & hard wired a new V1 + remote + micro/muting switch in my 06 Ford Escape.

Here are a few quick pics I snapped of the install:

The V1 hides up near my windshield tint strip (It just peeks out below it to read ahead) & is completely invisible from outside (I have very dark tinted windows all around). I was afraid the rear detection might suffer because of the placement, but that has not been the case at all.

I mounted the remote in my gauge cluster & when it lights it catches my attention visually every singe time. I do want to have an LED color mod done however (anybody know where I can get it done now??)

I bought the micro switch off ebay & it works super. I would have made one myself, but the ebay one was so cheap I couldn't see bothering to make it myself.

Nice install. That ScanGauge is a great tool as well. I really need to upgrade from my clunky ScanGauge I to the new, sleeker model.

Yea, the newer SG II is much better looking & a LOT smaller (I have one of the originals also). I work at a car dealer (I do IT work) & I just use the older one at work now.

Yea, that's especially true in my truck as it's a hybrid.

I neglected to mention, I absolutely LOVE the V1.

I had basically given up on RD's totally years ago when I got an I/O ticket for going 90 mph in a 55 mph zone while running the "state of the art" Escort.

I have slowed down quite a bit over the years & now I really need the RD just so I don't get nailed when I'm not paying attention (that has almost happened to me a few times on my way to work lately)

Since the remote lights are impossible to miss in the location where I installed it I could easily run with the sound totally off in the V1 & never miss an alert. I turned off POP & enabled the 30 second automute & enabled the setting for more responsive Ka.

I run in little l 99% of the time & it works super.......
