I actually sent mine in for poor Ka performance...I can only HOPE it's just a faulty unit that can be fixed, otherwise it's going to fleabay
Ive been a detector user for about 19 years. Ive owned a few and seen others in action in friends cars. My latest V1 is the best detector I have ever owned/observed. It has awesome Ka range.
It may be a forum for expressing opinion but its surely not for bashing the V1 like some have tried to do. Bashing it goes beyond simply pointing out a fault.Originally Posted by guit123

i own a v1 too and when i had probs with it there were some morons who were dissing me for no fault of mine. even when v1 is factory screwed still they will blame you not v1.
I get tired of seeing these new forum members that sign up (have fewer then 20 posts usually) and they are here bashing the crap out of the V1. That is what I was referring to. I never said that all V1's were perfect. In fact if you read my post you would see i actually pointed out many flaws in the V1 such as going out of tune, possibly being a bad from the factory to begin with, and the 35.5 problem in regards to off axis.
Whenver i go into the Bellscort forum i see all kinds of accounts where the detector completely missed the alert or something along that nature. I definitely feel that V1 has overall better quality control than belscort from what i have seen. Last time i checked V1 didn't release a radar detector which was incapable of satisfactorily detecting an entire frequency (cough cough STI cough cough)
You are basically implying I am a V1 Zombie. Although I am a firm believer in the V1 from my experience with it I don't think it is a perfect detector.
You own a 3.863 so how the hell would you even know about how the V1 does? That revision has been out for like a month you know. Have you owned another V1 before? I own a Belltronics 995 which is basically the same as an RX65 sensitivity wise. It has good detection but the V1 does have noticeably better sensitivity not to mention superior ramp up.
One more thing.........
Start paying attention to what the veteran members in this forum use. There are a few bell guys like Stealth Jamal but most tend to be V1. I wonder why............................
If you doubt the reviews of the V1 or its performance then go get another detector. NO one said you have to use a V1. No one told me to use a V1. I tried it because of extensive research which showed it was what serious people use.yeah this forum got that for sure. too many people here are into V1.
i'm not sure if there are lots of kids here or what is the deal with that ....
i had X50 and it was great. i really liked it. but you cannot say anything here against V1. it's the king it's the best etc...
that sucks because you cannot get a real idea about performance.
except reviews that me personally have doubts about them as well.
i mean , who knows who are those people ...they may be part of this group , they may get "free stuff" from manufacturers and so on.
i'm using V1 now too, sure it works. to tell you that it's better then my X50 was ... i cannot. it's really hard to tell. it's falsing more for sure .
it got the arrows that some times goes completely wild and are useless.
but some times they do help.
it may have better range then X50 or not. i don't have them both works so who knows.
the reason i ended up with the V1 is Euro mode that i need on my trips .
if the X50 had it, i would probably have kept it.
there was $140 difference between them , that i cannot see why.
but we going in circles here
bottom line, this forum is nice but anyone that coming here to get opinions need to understand that it's biased big time for the favor of the V1.
I'm actually planning to buy an STI soon because I want to try other detectors. Maybe you should do the same?

i doubt reviews like that in general , not just for the V1 results .
i don't think they are totally clean form interests. of course if you favorite of their opinions and you hear what you want to hear you won't suspect that...
i consider myself serious and my friend too., and we both use/d X50....i guess serious people can use other detectors as well. weird ha ?
i'm not into trying detectors. i'm into what works. this is not my hobby.
but like i said i already explained why and what...
i just point something about this forum. and i'm not the first to raise this point. and there nothing to that and how the V1 performs or not.
Just because the veteran members use the V1 doesn't mean that the V1 is for everybody. Not all individuals will like the V1 even if it is the king as you stated. It's a fact. If all individuals like the V1, there will be no escort, bel, whistler, cobra and etc. forums.
Believe it or not, others will still prefer to buy the cobra over the V1.
i'm looking forward to comparing the X50 to the V1. I have been wanting to try something else for a while now.
i'm currently using my new X50 at the moment
