    Default sneaky setup

A good friend of mine got nailed for speeding on his Harley last week near where he lives (Rochester NY)

He went through a construction site right before he was pulled over. There where two guys on orange vests & hard hats using what appeared to be a surveyors transit on a tripod with another guy down a ways holding a pole.

It turns out, the tripod setup was phony & it was really a radar setup. I stopped at his house yesterday, & when I got near to where he lives my V1 started going off giving a very strong laser alert at about 4 second intervals & did it about 6 times.

I never did see where it was coming from & it has never gone off in that area before (I stop there about once a week)

It probably wasn't radar, most likely laser. That's how they usually do it in many places since people are used to seeing the surveyor guys doing stuff with their surveying lasers.

Wow, undercover traffic officers? That area must either be in desperate need of cash or have a real problem with speeding.

That was what I meant, I said radar because that's what my buddy said but he doesn't know the difference.

I guess that's becoming more & more common. I saw on the news last week where some town (I don't remember where right offhand) was using officers disguised as highway department workers. They where using a guy riding in the center median on a lawn tractor mowing the lawn. The guy was really shooting laser at passing motorists.

    Be careful out there..........

When you think about it, catching speeders in a construction zone is a no-brainer. For one, you shouldn't be speeding in a construction zone to begin with due to workers (though when they aren't working, it sucks). Also, it's a double fine zone.

So, not only are they catching speeders in those construction zones, but they also land a double fine on the speeder.

It was a PHONY construction zone, there where no REAL workers there. The whole thing was nothing but a speed trap........

Wow, thats like the saying, "If a tree falls in the forest and no one is around to hear it, does it make a sound". If a speeder is caught in the phony construction zone, is it really a construction zone fine?

Thats low, really low, I can see using an existing construction zone, one that people are actually SUPPOSED to be slowing for, but really, creating a construction zone for purpose of revenue. Thats lower then low.

    This disgusts me..............

If that is actually true then being desperate has gone to a whole different level. If the government only put that much effort into deterring illegal aliens or stopping actually crime then the world would be a perfect place.

    lol
