Ok, today I was driving and picked up a highway patrol car running a stalker dual antenna. There are actually two interesting parts to this story.
First, i believe he had his rear antenna turned off (if thats possible?) or else it wasn't working for some reason. I only picked up him from about 700 feet behind and the signal was weak until i passed him and then i started getting a very strong signal indicating that his back antenna wasn't working? (it made me wonder if you can disable one of the antennaa. I believe the CAL CHP run Stalker DSR but I may be wrong. Can someone verify what type of radar the dual atenna stalkers are?
NOW FOR THE GOOD STUFF.........After I passed him he got back into traffic and took off onto the same off ramp as me. I kept at the PSL and he just ended up passing me (and got onto another onramp which went to another freeway). As he was passing over me i still had faint signals of Ka.
THATS WHEN IT HAPPENS. dooh dah, 2nd ka bogey pops up for just a second and then goes away. Right up ahead is moto chp shooting a stalker hand held instant on blast toward traffic. The proof is in the pudding. With any other RD you would have never known about the other LEO. I was just picking up some of the left over radar waves from the short burst he shot at another car (it wasn't a super strong alert).
I've had other instances similar to this, however, this was the most eye opening proving the V1 is the king of situational awareness. Someone in here tried to say the bogey counter and arrows are a marketing gimick...........This shows quite the contrary.
