Default Why doesn't the V1 have automute, and will it ever?

That is probably the one thing holding me back from buying a V1 right now, is that I have heard from several people on this board that the chattiness and false alert levels of the V1 can be a real nuisance. Can I expect them to ever fix or lessen this problem?

That's what I like most about the v1.

    IMO

With X off, I disagree, I don't feel it is overly chatty.

If you don't have X in your area....Don't let the fact that some say it is overly chatty be a deterrant from you purchasing a V1.....

It's got logic and Advanced Logic modes to reduce alerts in urban environments. And if that's not enough, the programming can be tweaked to custom-tailor the filtering to individual preferences.

The V1 has what I call, reverse auto mute. You will get a visual alert but no audio up to the 30 second cut off you pre set.
Belscort has the patent on auto mute so V1 will probably never have it.

I think the chattiness is the only legitimate complaint about the V1, but that depends on your settings and where you live.

Well that's good to hear. Is it comparable after those adjustments to the X50 in terms of noise level, or at least much more bearable?

Yes. Much more bearable. And you can turn off the rear horn.

You can't turn off the rear antenna. The closest thing you can do is mute rear K-Band alerts.
