Default Missing SML Laser detection test

Reading through the 2005 SML tests I was comparing more of the data you guys collected with the SML results and I noticed something that seems odd to me. The laser detection tests. All of the other tests were conducted at 1000' and 500', but not with the laser dectection tests. They list 1000' and 1/4 mile tests. Why didn't they do the 500' test like the other tests? Can someone help me understand this? Seems to me that the closer you are the tighter the laser light waves that are being shot. So a 500' test would have been very good to know how many if any detectors would have picked it up. Someone have any idea what was up with that?

    Drive safe, have fun,

That particular test was conducted then.
