Speed sign did not set off my V1!

I passed one of those radar speed signs that show how fast you are going in Auburn Hills, MI. My V1 (1 month old) did not make a peep. I slowed down and speed up to make sure that it was reading my speed. Later in the day I passed another speed sign it and triggered off my V1 no problem. What kind of radar could that sign have been using? I have never seen that before. Are they using a new band?

Same here. my V1 825 gets a very weak hit on K band from one of them sometimes. I think that the signs radar is so far of the police k ban feq (24150 ghz) that our radar detectors are not scaning that far . So as far as i can tell its there radar that need a service not ours.

To my knowledge in Advanced Logic mode K band auto mute is ennabled, maybe thats why

it happend to me once, I use the RX-65 ALL Band on . on HIGHWAY Mode and passed a "Your SPeed is" Sign and it never when off. so I figure it is a "Out-Of-Band" Radar

I have had the same experience with the V1. I think the frequency of the radar is too far off as mentioned above

Where was the sign at in Auburn Hills?
If I make it over to that area this week maybe I'll investigate...

So far every speed sign I've come across has operated on K band and has set off my V1.

It could be that the unit is out of tune (most likely), or maybe it uses some kind of non-radar measurement system (possible, if it's a fixed sign and not a trailer). Fixed signs could use in-road sensors. A trailer could use laser, but I haven't heard of this being done yet.

You have to wonder when some sneaky cop or department with some techy knowledge could detune their X or K-band guns to make them undetectable. Of course, they could get into trouble with the FCC for operating a detuned gun but who's ever going to know?

The sign was in the residential area at Tieken & Squirrel Rd. Corner just South of Dutton rd. I used go to thru there to work and they had a sign a lot of the time there and I picked it up a long way back but this one never made a peep. I am using all default settings with my v1 (8.324). I must be the sign was so far out of band that it didn't see it. The strange thing is that the speed was spot on.

That is very disturbing... I hope you guys can find out what the deal is with that sign and what band it is using. That would be very useful info to know. Has anyone else gone past this sign with an X50 to see if they have the same issue?
