What would cause an K-band alert that starts off full strength with either front or rear arrows, then drops off to mid-strength, and turns off completely?
No side arrows, and no noticeable "normal" sources, such as Mercedes, Infiniti's, or Lexus (or any car with adaptive cruise control).
I purchased my trusty V1 last October and since then, it has provided me with great service. Until 3 weeks ago, I received the dreaded "E" on the bogey counter.
So I shipped it off to Ohio and got it back in time for my weekend trip from Los Angeles to San Francisco. I hardwired the V1 to the car and fired it up, and everything was normal. The only thing I had to do was disactivate X-Band. I guess when it was getting repaired, all the factory settings were restored.
Before I sent it in, I never experienced this type of K-band alert, so I'm wondering if they "upgraded" me? Unfortunately, I never wrote down the software version before I sent it off.
Could it be just something that's like traffic monitoring in the SF area? The whole drive up to SF I never had it until I hit the city limits.. so..
