does V1 detect new laser guns

I bought V1 last month. I heard my friend said that many cops are changing to new laser gun that V1 can't detect it. I've been driving around and i feel it can detect only 2 out of 10. This morning I drove by a cop who is standing on the sidewalk aiming with the laser gun but it didn't detect it at all. I live in San jose, calif
Am i wasting my money on detector? Will there a new detector that can detect new laser?

The V1 can detect all laser guns used in the US, and does it better than any other radar detector on the market. So, your friend has no clue what he is talking about.

Although it can sometimes detect laser "scatter" when other vehicles are targeted, it has to be the right situation. Otherwise, the V1 will only alert when your vehicle is targeted.

To get reliable protection against laser, you'll need a laser jammer.

But why my V1 didn't detect it when cop was aiming at me? Is there something wrong with mine?

1) Maybe he was not actually aiming at you.

2) The shorter the distance from laser gun to your car, the lesser the chance of the V1 (or any detector) picking up the laser beam...because majority of the time, cops aim for your headlights, license plate or chrome on the front of your car. The beam is pencil thin at that short distance...and the detector will have no scatter to pick up.

Or, maybe there is something wrong with your detector. You should probably test your V1 laser sensor. Some household remote controls will set it off. None of mine did, so I personally bought a laser tester, just for the peace of mind.

Remember , he will not shoot the laser if he you are going under PSL :-) ... they are professional and use gun day in and day out .... they actually kinda have the six sense about speeders .. they can sense it by looking at your car if you are going over the psl or not . .. so if they think you are going fast your v1 in US of A will goo off as all the guns that shoots laser so far i know get picked up by laser

Side note : last week i got hit by laser and my v1 was mounted way high some time mounting way high don't work with other radar's when it comes to laser but my v1 was right on it .

The only laser i know of which some rd's can't pick up is the laser atlanta in stealth mode, which the v1 picks up..

The v1 is extremely sensitive to laser, 10/10!
