How dirty does the windshield have to get before it will affect V1's detection ability? How about road salt and water stain on the windshield during winter? Will it make any difference? Thanks!

I would say very little--but I tend to keep my windshield somewhat clean just for that reason
Shouldn't effect radar, but I think it would effect laser reception.
I would have to agree that it would effect laser, although possibly not radar. Just to be safe, keep a box of armor all windshield wipes in the auto. Or just a paper towel roll and some windex (that's what I do!)Originally Posted by peachtreecity
By the time it starts to affect laser it should affect your vision too.... reach for the washer fluid

Well that's a disadvantage of your mountpoint then if it cannot be sweeped by the wipers to keep the region clean....
I got a few laser falsing during daytime on an open road. Is this normal with dirty windshield?Originally Posted by peachtreecity
No... its just normal. The V1 is a VERY SENSITIVE detector. Its been known to false for laser from the sun or certain vehicle stop-lamps.Originally Posted by a529612
