    Default Concealed-Display Question

    HI all,

I am planning on getting a V1, indeed, I almost place my order this afternoon. But, I am still deciding if I should get the Concealed-Display.

For people who hide their main unit, I can understand the reason they bought a Concealed-Display. However, if I am just gonna place my V1 on the Windshield, either mount high or low, do you think there is any use of the Concealed-Display?

    Thanks.

If that is the only reason, I think I will pass on that unit since I have a black car with black interior and 20% tinted glass, it would be really hard to look inside at night.

Save your money with a 20% tint there is no way they are going to see in

Not sure, but I've read that Veil is a undetectable and permenant coating. See Radar Roy's store and reviews on Veil. It wouldn't be seen and provides the protection you're probably looking for.

Some state have laws about plate covers but a laser sheild is hardly noticeable until up close....and put VEIL on your head lights which really isn't noticeable at all

i think it comes down to how you like to run your detectors.
if you don't mind others seeing it, especially at night when it lights up, and don't mind reaching up to hit mute, then save your money, since you can always add it later.

For me, i always run it dark. i don't want anyone, especially LE's to see it, day or night. i prefer to blend with traffic, as opposed to being leader of the pack. some people have a tendency to jump behind a car that passes them, when they see a detector.
Also, for me the concealed display is better located, for my eyes only, plus i reach to the right to hit mute, as opposed to reaching up to the windshield, in the obvious, "i have a detector pose".

I will always use the concealed display for a few reasons. Most importantly being, it allows me to mount my detector out of sight (and I also couldent see its display). With my setup, even with an officer looking in at me during a traffic stop, still cant see my detector. Might get only a warning. The remote can be mounted in smaller spots and where a detector wouldn't have operating range. IE, mine is where my oil change sticker goes. i can see it from the corner of my eye without taking my eyes off the road.
