Default Turning off the V1's Auto-Dimming

Does anyone know a way to disable the auto-dimming feature on the V1? I would like the display to be its full brightness at night.

Take a LED flashlight and.... haha just kidding. (Actually, I think that might be close to the real answer you're going to get) *paging Dr. MEM-TEK, paging Dr. MEM-TEK*....

    Why?

You like to advertise, isn't is bright enough?

Just buy some red neon lights and install inside your car if you want that military @WAR lighting effect.

I just would like to have it be as bright as possible to catch my eye.

Just put some black electric tape over the light sensor.

This would cause the V1 to always be dim. I don't think this is what Snakeyes wants. I believe from his posts he just would like to have it be as bright as possible to catch his eyes.

Exactly, black tape would only make is always dim. Plus I don't think the V1 has a separate light sensor but rather uses measurements from the laser sensor.

yeah i would like full brightness at all times too. because my V1 is to the right of my rearview mirror and because of it's crappy display, i would like to more easily see which band is operating and signal strength with the corner of my eye.

(yes i said the V1 has a crappy display, which it does!)

The concealed display 100% has a light sensor, the only time I opened up my V1 I couldn't say I was looking for a light sensor. Either way, if its just a sensor, sensors can always be bypasses. Most likely the sensor gives off a small voltage when it is sunny, so just reproduce they small voltage and it will think it is always sunny. Theoretically is would work, unless it uses the laser sensor as you said.
