Just for SML, the detector manufacturers should rig a "special" mode... say call it the "SML" mode to compliment EXPERT, AUTO, HIGHWAY, etc...

in SML mode... what would normally be 1 bar of signal strength, will go straight to FULL ALERT all bars.

So it'll either be off/silent, or full blast at FULL ALERT.

    Hehehe what do you think?

Why will you increase sensitivity of the Ka band? V1 has one of the best Ka band sensitivity.

I was wrong when I said I increased the senstivity of Ka band by prorammming option 5. As other pointed out and as I read http://www.valentine1.com/lab/MikesLabRpt3.asp, what I did was to make the signal strength meter more responsive to Ka band. Drive safely and happy motoring.

Yeah... whether the "sensitive" mode is on or off, it will start warning AT THE SAME TIME, except the warning will ramp up quicker... to possibly get your attention.

But in most cases, KA will be real anyway, I have rarely seen any KA false alerts. Most false alerts are on X or K, so if you get a KA warning, even if it is just 1 LED or 1 bar warning, you should immediately take action anyway.

So this feature, in my mind, is of limited use, since you should start acting at 1 bar warning anyway for KA band.
