Hi, new guy here. I just got my V1 last week and have been using the search and reading about this marvelous device. Last time I ran a RD was in 1985.
Anyway...So far I have not run into any LEO's (thankfully) on my way to and from work but have picked up lots of Costco, Longs, etc, so I knew it worked. Tonight after the Super Bowl I thought it would be a perfect time to make a quick run around the neighborhood, knowing they would be out in full force because of the SB parties everywhere.
As soon as I turned to the main frontage road the V1 gave a K alert (A mode, everything default), 1 strong bogey, where there was none for the last few days. That particular place is famous for the local PD to nail people but not having a RD for years I didn't know what they were using other than the LIDAR shown on the local news.
As I was driving away at the PSL of 45mph I was picking up the K but got 2 bogeys, arrow behind. I flipped a U at the intersection 6/10 of a mile up the road and came down the street at him. I got almost a full strength K blast, 1 bogey, then silence (I assume he targeted the cars half way down in front of me). Suddenly I got 2 bogeys and the strength climbed until I was on top of him and the V1 was singing. I passed just one Expedition and then arrow switched to the side then to the rear with 2 bogeys showing. Not wanting to make it too obvious I drove the long way around and came back 5 minutes later on little L mode in the other lane (4 lane divided road). Same thing happened and I was the only one on the road. Showed 2 bogeys but I only saw one vehicle.
After that I took a quick run down the freeway at the PSL. I ran across 5 K speed reporting drones that I read about here. Each reported just 1 bogey. Strange. Maybe there was someone in the bushes I didn't see? Don't know. I'll have to pay closer attention in the future. And now I know my local PD uses K. I guess muting K is a bad idea for my town.
