Greetings from MN! Been visiting this site for a long time, and finally purchased and hardwired a V1.
Really like it. The added confidence of the arrows is really surprising. Even more so after you have one for a while!
Hard wired to the switched hot wire going to the auto-dimming mirror:
(Note, a little fog on the rear sensor from handling--it's cold up here!)
Just back from Michaels with the suction cups you all recommended. Wow, what a difference! I also really appreciate the fact that the wire to the detector is clipped in. If the suction cups fail, the detector will not go crashing to the floor!
I have been using it for a couple of weeks now, and it is really nice. In my county in MN, it is really common for two LEOs to follow each other with constant on Ka. The counter actually works! (as you know)
Will stay in touch for future suggestions and upgrades.
Right now just driving around on A. Never seen X used in MN, so might turn this off.
Just one laser false from the tail lights of some SUV. Kind of a rush, I have to admit.
Thanks all for the suggestions and data on this site!
PS 1: Just went out tonight for a drive and had my first save. Constant on Ka from county sheriff. Detected WAY off. Since it was night, the arrows identified the LEO from the line of cars coming by. Lots of fun!
PS2: FYI for other newbies. You guys did have me a little paranoid--earlier post of getting a new V1 and having "P" show up when turned on. With new V1s, it does go P o P when turning on. Of course, I thought the P meant program, but in this case it meant POP.
