Default Nice over the hill but bad off axis

Two runs in the same video of the same cops.

First was nice over the hill performance. Now that I think of it, the two cops both had their guns on. The one I picked up nicely, but the other one wasn't that good (note when you hear the doo doot for the second bogey). That leads into the next thing, which must have been from the cop that I wasn't picking his radar up that good from.

Second, the cop was leaving and it was bad off axis, but I guess this could be normal.

the off-axis ka detection is normal because he was facing a field and there wasnt anything that would give a good reflection. also Ka-band is more directional than K-band

I strongly suspect IO was used on the second encounter. I've never seen my V1 ramp up that way to CO Ka before.

NO, as said before he was not shooting the radar in your direction... from the first encounter he was parked shooting you oncomming over the hil... when you turned around... remember he was parked shooting up the hill... he then pulled out and turned facing you. There was no off axis.

As for the "late" bogey lock, there are so many hypotheticals, unless you are with the officers seieng what was on etc. you can never know. Safe to say your RD gave you great protection.

Actually it looked like the officers were having a little chit chat break.

    Default IO

Too many people have IO on the brain, clearly they don't see many or any actual IO hits or they would know how much of a difference there is. Once you get hit with an actual IO, you know the difference, its unmistakable and absolutely no need to speculate what took place.

That first one was excellent! That could make a good TV commercial for V1. You were off axis when you first detected in the first one, and behind the hill. You first got the alert on that turn before the hill, and with all those trees that were blocking the signal. That first one was very nice.

amoney is absolutely right, it was hard to see at first but now I see what he was talking about after several replays. The cop wasn't even on the road, clearly pointing straight out into that field then pulled out into your direction. Look closer up the road jdong and watch the cop pulling out onto the street from the left side at the top of that little incline in the road. That was no doubt CO radar. It was at close range though, and there are trees and objects in that field that should have reflected something. He might of just been turning his radar on while pulling out into the road. His V1 is also installed off axis pointing to the right side due to the curve of his windshield, that may not of been helping, but I can see why he has it installed like that, the car has that sun block tenting above the RVM and below the RVM would obstruct his vision.

As far as no further alert after he passed you, clearly there's nothing wrong with your rear detection capabilities as evident from the first encounter. Is there a hill directly behind you in that shot that the cop would have dropped down? He was clearly shooting CO forward only and if he was dropping down a hill behind you it would make for a worse case scenario. Even still though that was a poor example of rear detection in the second video, unless he did maybe turn his radar back off.

That is a perfect demonstration of off axis.

Notice where the LEO pulled out, his radar was beaming forward across the street into an empty field, no telephone poles, no buildings.... No metal objects. Therefore nothing to deflect the signal in your direction. So even though you were beaming right at him you did not pick him up until he turned.

The Ka Police Radar is very directional and is why even a V1 has a difficult time detecting it.

That was awesome! I like a challenge

In the second video, had I not seen him, and had there not been any cars going the same way as him, I probably would have received a ticket if I was speeding.

I have never seen instant on used by any agency here in NY other than state police on the Thruway or 390.

V1's off axis with 35.5 is it's down side even at close range which changes every encounter depending on the reflections you get.

I would simply add that Ka is much more directional compared to K.
