x50 expermiment ending - reverting back to the V1
Well, my one week trial with the X50 is coming to an end. I will put it back in the carrying case for awhile and revert back to my V1. I always like to swap detectors every once in awhile for a nice change up.
Overall, it was a good experience as were my past times with the X50 The mounting bracket is nice as you just slide it on and off which I really liked about my V995 before the V1.
However, life without the arrows is tough
I had a variety of threats during this last week (above average actually). However, each time I was totally confused about where the alert was coming from. I had to go back to my old instincts of paying attention to how the signal behaves (eg, ramps up fast and then disappears when leo is passing in opposite freeway lane).
All of my encounters were Stalker Ka. It was nice having a frequency counter and it reminded me of Pre-v1 times.
AN INTERESTING OBSERVATION: I really do feel the two antennas on the V1 help it to lock onto a signal much better than the x50. The X50 seems to pick it up, then loose it especially if traffic is semi blocking the signal. With the V1, I will almost always get an early blip and then it pretty much locks on regardless of the conditions (unless the signal was miles away of course).
Life without sex would be survivable but it would suck. Similarly, life without the V1 is ok but its leaves a lot to be desired. Go arrows!
It is very hard to put the Valentine One away in favor of anything else.

I'm in a similar situation right now except that I don't have a choice :/

I used to have a Vector 995, then switched to an STi Driver, then to a V1.
As you can see I've been going from decent to very good. I'm happy where I'm at now.
