Default Question about mute features on V1

So I have started to use the programing feature on the V1 and am a little curious about the rear mute setting. I am wondering if it will always mute rear kband or if it will also use the unmute at 4 LEDs like the timed mute settings. I would just check this myself but I am away from my V1 and questions like this just stay in my head until I get an answer.

Idealy I would like to have a 5 second mute on all kband and they rear mute rear kband, but want all alerts as soon as they are 4 led strength. Just wondering if this is possible.
    Thanks

Also just wondering what setting others are using?

Using the regular 4 LED K band automute automatically works on the rear antenna as well.
Option (G) will never allow regular K band volume on the rear antenna using a logic mode because this option does not have any preset thresholds to break.
I like (G) because after breaking the time delay or 4-LED threshold while passing automatic door sensors, and the strongest K band signal goes to the rear antenna (G) automutes all eight signal strength LED's.
It's as if your passenger hit the mute button for you.
You will still see (G) LED's in small L mode and you can adjust the muted volume for the hit.
I don't think 5-sec is enough though and remember Big L will not show anything until you break a threshold.

This is what I do exactly. You can adjust the onset mute time to one that suits you. For me 15 seconds seems about right. But there is no "one size fits all" formula. I love the flexibility.

How do you change the threshold to say 35 seconds and k band auto mute to 6 LED threshold?

The most you can set it to is 30 seconds.

Just to be curious why would you want to mute the 1st part of the alert? Isn’t that essentially muting the V1's awesome sensitivity?

Not really, IMO this style of muting makes more sense. The alert becomes more annoying/loud as the threat gets more real.

I think the V1's awesome sensitivity serves best as a "peripheral vision" in areas where you'd activate Logic mode -- i.e. it quietly informs you of the presence of a signal, and only goes into blaring loud mode when a certain threat level is passed.

That's better than the traditional mute paradigm of sounding full volume at first, then muting, because it could be quietly ramping up to 9/9 without you knowing a thing.

I've had the V1 save me once while I was being very distracted comparing gas prices between two gas stations when BLAM an alert broke my 6-bar K-band barrier. Sure enough, over the next hill moving K-band radar was coming my way. Even at 6 bars over a hill, there was enough reaction time for me to respond safely.

I couldn't help but wonder with another detector, if it didn't perk up at high strenghts if I would've just ignored the alert altogether.

Interesting, neat way to look at it.
My 9500I works kind of in this way, at first it beeps really slow but when the threat starts to be immanent it blares at me. I have the old ramp up with no mid range.

I just set it up for 20 sec mute and am still deciding if it is ok to mute the rear. I am just worried about IO Kband from the rear. Troopers near me drive up behind you and then IO you, but they usually use Ka. Still don't think i want to risk it although i will still see the alert.

I prefer the V1's audio alerts better then my previously owned STi and V995.

I like, as already mentioned, the fact that a weak strength alert is at a muted volume. Then as it gets stronger the audio alerts at full volume. That's all aside from a perfect ramp-up, as opposed to my old STi.
