That's not true. I was in South Carolina doing 94 in a 65 when I had my Cobra XRS9400. I was completely silent when the trooper clocked me. Even if it went off late, I still could have tried to race to the next exit and hide in a gas station of something.
What did he used to clock you? Your cobra may be out of tune. What I'm saying here is, there are rules to follow. If you don't have a rabbit in front of you, ALL RADAR DETECTORS ARE USELESS. I've used one for a good amount of time and never did have problems with it. BTW, it was even an older model as seen in this picture.
Exactly. Thats why we like cobra users because they always think they can go 100plus and still get off. Hence, they make the best rabbits.

Sucks for the guy with the V1. Maybe if he did his hwk he would have known about the dangers of IO and laser. The moment you detect it you are done for.

If you always have a rabbit, what's the detector for?

It is NICE to have a rabbit but if I am in a hurry so be it. Got hit with I/O on my way home tonight after having a few drinks with friends. But I knew he was there as I picked him up an easy 1/2 mile before I even turned down that street.

Easy 2-3 dots with side arrows on the V1 for about 3 seconds, I am sure others would have remained silent.

Driving further up the road I see him hidden off to the side with no lights on doing I/O. Thing that pissed me off was that I knew he was there but there was absolutely no PSL sign anywhere. I guessed it was around 45 so drove 40 past him.

So, doubt I was DWI for only 2 beers but without an RD it could have been rather nasty.

When I am driving on the highway there is little chance I will be looking in the windows of other cars that fly by me. More likely I'll be focusing on what I am doing.

I guess I am just not that good of a driver.

I was under the impression police dont/cant shoot radar in rain, especially if its down pouring.... heavy. Certainly at far distances.

OK - always have a car in front of you to pick up I/O then...

He could have used laser or vascar. Your cobra should have alerted you to a presence of radar at close range. For the most part, cobra's have decent detection capabilities at close range. Long range is :?:
Not really... My XRS-9400 has failed to alert to CO 35.5 from a SUV until we crossed paths about 10ft from each other, and no IO is used in my area.
You should have bought the older cobra model. Don't we all get spotty detection with the V1 and other RD's when it comes to 35.5?

I do know it was raining. Maybe not pouring down rain but he did use his radar.
