I just got my V1 in today and hard-wired it in my Z. Then I programmed the V1 for X-off and enabled features "B" thorough "G"
I then put the V1 in little "L" mode, set the mute volume to almost zero, and went to the noisiest part of my town. (about 4 sets of K-band door openers in just over a mile)
It pointed out every door opener complete with "bogey" counts but, with the mute volume at almost 0, the V1 was just whispering to me.
The V1 didn't get bothersome until I pointed the detector directly at one of the door openers at an intersection.
Once I am confident with its behavior on police K-band radar, I will most likely use big "L" (in town) and the V1 will be completely silent for most door openers / situations.
Neither my RX-65 nor my X50 could do this. My old Bel 985 had an autoscan feature that filtered k-band about like my V1 does now. I have missed that feature every since Belscort stopped filtering K-band in any of their city modes.
I want to take the time to do an in-depth review once I have spent more time with the unit, but I think it's funny that the biggest complaint regarding the V1 seems null and void for anyone willing to program the unit.
