Getting KU Detections with my V1

Hey everyone, I was heading down to walmart tonight to pick up some candy & crap, and I got hit with a KU band that lit up 3 bars on the V1. Whats up with that? Could that be a weak X band signal?

Most walmarts use Stanley automatic door openers that run on K band (24.125 GHz). Walmart used to use Besam doors that ran on X band, but most walmarts replaced those units by now. The X band guns are the square gun on top of the doors, the new Besam sensors are exactly the same shape as the stanleys and run on the same K band.

Besam are more expensive door openers. Cheap Walmart uses the cheaper Stanley's now.

I got the KU band detection on the way there, there was "Lexus Nexis" which would be the only thing that could have set off the KU detection. Pop quiz, who knows what lexus nexis is!?

When I was going to college for EE, I was a technician at Besam Automated Entrance Systems. I worked in the warentee dept. fixing circuit boards, tuning the X band guns for distance, tuning led's so the doors wouldn't close on you, and burning in the control boards.

Well, I know what lexus nexis is (database of news stories, congressional articles, academic articles, etc. I use them all the time), but I wasn't aware they had a building...I supose the servers have to be somewhere.

Letter to VR

How does a V1 react when picking up Ku band?
Flashing red LED?
What kind of sound?
Any new modifications coming out soon? POP 3?

Thanks for your email.* Ku will show up as a flashing decimal point.* The audio will be the same as a K-band alert.
There's no such animal as POP 3.* We cover all of the three radar guns that use the POP setup.
