    Default Just got V1 today

Yup, couldn't wait. Nice to be back in a V1. However I have some questions about it since I'm used to the 2002 V1. I noticed right off the bat V1 is offering 3 modes of filtering... A, L and big L. 2ndly... I couldn't find anywhere in the manual on how to program the thing if you want. is the new current V1 programable? I really hate X band. I've been running a detector for 8yrs and never have found a true X threat other than CVS's doors. I made a 120 mile trip with it this morning and the thing works much better than my previous 955 (defective?) unit I had. the Biggest difference: false alerts. the V1 only gave me 1 on this trip. vs the 199 the 955 gave me.

in florida it is illegal for X band to be used for police radar so turn it off...this will greatly reduce the noise your v1 makes. Also, turn POP off.

I did not know it was illegal for LEO in FL to use X band. Wonder why? any real reason? Either way... that's good for me. X stinks. Like I said.. 8yrs in Fl and not one real X threat.

Man I wish I had a V1. Personally I would turn X off, leave POP on, and leave it in A mode.

J- POP? on or off? why? Off. Causes the Valentine One to excessively alert to Ka when it is most likely not a real threat. Plenty of information on here regarding POOP. Oops I mean POP.

... That's kind of what I was thinking. Pretty much stock except for X band off.

I alway recommend stock and A mode for a month or two. You need to get a feel for how the Valentine One works.

Between the Arrows and awesome range it is like nothing else.

After a couple of months try moving to little l (L) with some K band muting. You can look at my Sig for how I have mine setup.
