    Default Question on V1's automute

By default, is there a 5 second automute enabled for the 3.825 ?

And does the automute just mute it for the 5 seconds? or is it when it crosses a certian threshold it ill start to alert?

These are questions that YOU should not be seeking answers to! Just sell the darn thing and end your pain. This relationship that you have had with the V1 hass been VERY mentally abusive for the V1. It is time to let her go. The X50 loves you, it really does. Start a relationship with that evil b!tch

In all seriousness Sethy there is NO AUTOMUTE on the V1 by default. What makes you think that there is?

    Sethy,

According to my owners manual, the auto mute will remain muted until the signal strength reaches a certain strength - I believe it is 4 LEDs. And yes, this is by default (factory settings), but you can change them. Also, I believe it works differently for the K band if you change your programming. See programming of mute options for E and F:

There is no automute enabled by default.
You must change option "7" to enable functions b,c,d,e,f,g in "l" and "L" modes only.
VR calls it "automute" but is is nothing more than a time delay, to hold off alerting until it meets the requirements you set with options b,c,d,e,f,g.

The V1 doesn't have the "automute" of the Escort where it gives full alert, than "automutes" to half volume or so.

so if i set a 30 second delay, and a cop turns on the road running K band. is it possible for him to pass me and i get no alert? or will it unmute at a threshhold...

Yes, completely possible. if you set a 30 second delay, and change "E" and "F" you could go right by even with a direct full on hit, and not know you are even being clocked.

If you leave "E" and "F" alone, you would be okay, unless he was far away and did instant on and then didn't turn it on again until he came across you. the charts show the difference in performance with the delays set.
Read here for more info regarding these settings.

I also did a quick video showing this in action.
Now in the video i also changed "G', but you can still see how "E" and "F" affect it.
