    Default On/Off question

Is it recommended to physically turn the V1 off, or is it OK to just power it off and on with the ignition of your car without touching the knob?

i usually just turn the ignition off (mine is hardwired too) it makes it a lot easier to deal with and i dont think the starting up/turning off of the car hurts it

Do whatever you are comfortable with. I personally turn it off first before turning off the ignition.

lol, same thing happened to me this weekend. I had it turned off and when I finally realized it, and turned it on, I was getting I/O KA from the rear. I wasn't speeding at the time.

My V1 turns on or off when I turn the key in the ignition and I have never had any issues with it breaking, shorting out, or blowing any fuses. I did however forget to turn it on after I had turned it off one time long ago so I decided to never turn it off ever again.

there are certainly more critical and certainly more expensive
electrical components that id be worried about....whens the last
time you had ANYTHING stop functioning because you left it on
    while starting your car...

do you turn EVERYTHING off before you exit your car ???

When I hard-wired mine, I was lucky and found a circuit that is only live when the ignition is ON, so when you start it up, it goes ON and stays ON, no ON-OFF-ON, just goes ON and stays on till I open my door(with ignition turned off), must have to do with the dome light, but I'll take it.
