Now I see why the Valentine 1 has been hailed the greatest of RD’s since forever, and still to this day leads the pack in raw sensitivity.
After owning this thing for just a little over a week, I’ve realized that arrows really do make all the difference. I drove the Civic (RX65) one day due to the rain, and when it started beeping, I felt anxious, because I didn’t know where the LEO was coming from.
Another thing is OMG holy WOW to rear detection. It just BLOWS the RX65 out of the water with ANY radar coming from the rear. I literally do not feel safe, nor trust the RX65 from any kind of rear detections now. I personally can’t believe how much speeding I’ve done without having the rear detection of the V1. Now, I know I can drive fast and have real 360 degree protection. Especially when I have the top down
I have yet to come across any Laser yet, so I can’t comment on that, but I know from the MANY reviews, the V1 is unbeatable.
Not only do I pick up known radar areas hundreds of feet earlier, the ramp up on this is amazing. It’s so sensitive that I had to disable X band, because I would hear it beep and slow down too often, but I have to say, I haven’t experienced any X band in my area in over 4 years, so I’m really not worried about it. It will of course go on for road trips, but for my daily commute, I am good to go. This thing is extremely quiet with X off, so now if it beeps; it’s a LEO, so I slow down. Honestly, it’s the way it should be.
I can’t stress enough how great the additional warning is over the RX-65, I truly have more than ample time to slow down. I now drive a minimum of 10 over everywhere I go and have absolutely NO problems picking up LEO radar no matter what the terrain is. Over hills, around corners, it doesn’t matter which way the LEO is facing. I’ve never once had this much confidence in a RD to give me the ample time I need to come to the speed limit before getting nailed.
Add all of these, plus the fact that it’s the CHEAPEST of the BIG 3, and you get the hardwire kit INCLUDED with your V1, and the fact that you can upgrade it FOREVER in the future… well I can’t see why anyone buy people who NEED the STI stealth looking for any other radar. If you need GPS truelock, just buy a cheetah GPS mirror w/ the interface for the V1, bam your done.
Anyway, Zombie # 3948205 reporting, good day.
