v1 concealed display question

so this has probably been brought up before, but why doesn't the concealed display have a mute button thats not attached directly to it?

and would someone like rebnic remove the mute button so that we could put it something nicer?

i always wanted my concealed display right at my cluster, but then i gotta reach all retarded to hit mute, so i have the thing right under my radio, which is alright, but still not premium

anyways this has probably been brought up before, but i hate searching

The search engine on RD.net is actually quite nice - with the ability to use the "AND" logical connector as well as the exclusion criteria, and also the ability to focus searches on specific sub-Forums.

Please do search, it's really, really a powerful tool at helping increase your knowledge.

looks like alot of actual wiring and what not needed for this huh? :P

i was hoping someone would be willing to do it like rebnic, as what he does seems to look nice/be professionalistic

and ofcourse the fact that i am terrible at wiring, hell i was scared to do a hardwire with add-a-circuit when i did it a while back

ofcourse my fears were unfounded, but when it comes into splicing/sodering and all that good stuff i can't say i'm willing to jump over into that boat just yet :P

I liked the porsche install, REB makes mute button delete remote displays, I wonder if he could pigtail a mute button too? That would reduce the size of the display make it cleaner to install in tight places.

^ Your local countermeasures hobbyists and/or "car nuts" should be able to achieve such ends.

It's really quite basic stuff, and anyone who's either done it before or knows basic mechanicals/electronics can do this quite easily.

its really a VERY simple act to remove the Remote Display's mute
button...from theres its just as easy to make or use your own
mute button...

if i can do it ANYONE can...
