    Default POP2 on the V1

Ok people, I'm curious. I normally run with POP disabled. Been tempted to give it a whirl.

I have even been riding around with Ka false guard off sometimes when I am on the backcountry roads where there is not that many cobras around. I picked up a Ka signal from fairly far away where a officer was shooting the opposite traveling traffic.

Why not enable POP? Even though you really can't be given a ticket for POP. It doesn't really hurt to have it on. It would be great if there was some type of POP Alert on the V1, but it really doesn't matter as long as it saves me from a ticket.

POP is pretty much never used, but I love the sound of the J out alert!

It really depends on my mood. I have never noticed any difference in range from having it on or off.

I'd say most of the time, I have it off. Since, for me, it is only on to hear the J out sound. I usually can do without the fun J out sound, minimising the K and Ka falsing.

The J-out feature is for KA band only, Personally I have had pop on for about 6 months now and I notice my personal unit seems to perform better. The arrows go from front to rear nice and smooth on KA guns instead of the arrows going wacky compared to when I had POP off. It also maintains the signal longer with local falses. Sounds strange I know. But what it boils down to is that it is a personal decision. Our state patrol uses 33.8 so who knows if you are going to be POP'd...better safe then sorry. I say just leave it on unless it falses way to much.

I keep POP on because I really don't notice much more falsing with it on vs off in my area.

Like I have said in the past, try it w/ pop on for a while and then try it w/ pop off for a while. I feel it's good to switch things up once in a while.

Ive heard, awhile back on here, that someone got hit on I-94 out by Marshall, Mi.

Was that you NMA that encountered it?

From the way it sounds on the Valentine website, Mike V is boasting better range and less falsing on POP. I'm going to enable it for a while and see for myself. POP was intolerable on my Bel 995.
