nice save..yea it must have been boring waitin 2.6 miles for him
Sweet!
2.6 miles I would be on edge the whole time wondering where in the world he is.
Ace
That's pretty far.
u could have been speeding for 2.5 miles and then slowed down
At some point can the radar detector be too sensitive? And pick up radar from other roads, alert you to dangers that are not present?
You could make that argument, but sensitivity is usually a good thing.Originally Posted by DougiesGoinDeep
To pick up threats from another road, that other road would have to approx. parallel the road you are on and be free of obstacles in between the two roads (for the most part). This is usually not the case. Most roads have obstacles in between, and don't parallel eachother.
I had this happen to me ONCE on an outer road of a highway, but since the LEO was visible to me, I was visible to him, and the warning was appreciated.
At this point in time, no detector is TOO sensitive, in my opinion.
Lets not call them Noobs because we need guys like him and we appreciate RD when there are no Cars around ESPECIALLY. I would careless about people running RD if I was a Cop and yes I'm sure some Cops do care about it. I'm assuming DPS in your County run C/O normally?Originally Posted by ryansandlin
It would be nice if they could give us 7 mile I/O Ka Warning just in case you might be the next target on the Road by yourself at night.Originally Posted by DougiesGoinDeep
Thats a huge distance! Two days ago while 50 feet in the air crossing the hwy on an overpass onramp I picked up a CHP running Ka parallel to me and ahead about 300 yds. So I was 50' up, 300yds behind, and horizontal to him!
