    Default V1 History

Anyone know what the history of V1 hardware upgrades is? How long between hardware upgrades, while they spend time tweaking the software?

What does the 3.8 mean, the 8th hardware upgrade?

I had V1 Ver 3.13 then came (6months or so i think)318....319 this is where the probs started eg pop. Ver 3.21 still trouble next one 2 months later ver 3.24 almosted fixed then the one i have 8.25. I think the number difference is the number of changers between modles.

The oldest I ever had was a version 1.3 back in 95. It didnt have laser detection, and also didnt identify what band it was. They looked like this. http://cgi.ebay.com/Valentine-One-Ra...QQcmdZViewItem
Notice the different front display. But they were still the best back then.

And 3.8xx is just the firmware. 1.0 up to 1.8 is the actual model. You can tell a model by its firmware, but laymans terms will use 1.8 instead of 3.818 for example.

That's a pretty dark picture. It looks like the current ones except for no band indicators, then?

Did it make different sounds for each band?

I'm curious as to what the "1.0" version (or whatever the first production version) of the V1 looked like. Does anyone have a picture of that?

So, assuming the first version was 1.0 and now it's 1.8, there have been eight hardware revisions? I wonder if there is a list of what they are somewhere.

Visual band ID did not come out until 99 I paid $75 for that upgrade.
I did have a burned out front arrow so timing was great for me.
At the time they said that the new LED's were improved greatly.
Before Visual band ID's they used the desmal point, nothing for X, blinking for Ka steady for K band.
Tones were the same as now as MV adopted them from the original Escort.
Early units were sold with or without the front laser as shown in BiGeAsYgUy photo for $299
Laser added 1/4" to the whole bottom of the case where the circuitry sat.

I had a V1 "1.0" from back in the day also. I sold it to a friend of mine who is still using it to this very day in his Taurus SHO. It's neat to see how it has evolved since then.
