I've had a V1 for several years (a 1.7, and for the past year, a 1.8, pre-POP). I always run in L mode since I do lots of city driving and X isn't used much/at all by LEOs around here.
Anyway, my question stems from a particular X bogey that the L mode doesn't seem to be filtering out at all. It is either a drone emitter or traffic sensor on one of the traffic lights in the city, and my V1 picks it up from 1/2 mile away, even when I'm coming at it from a right angle. It'll start alerting to this bogey with 1 dot, when normally L mode filters out weak X band signals. When I switch to A mode, I pick up this bogey at the same distance as in L mode.
At first I thought L mode wasn't working at all, but one time while I was in a bank parking lot (my wife went in while I waited in the car), my V1 started sounding X on and off, at 3-4 bars or so. I switched to A mode and then the bogey came on and stayed on, hovering between 2 and 4 dots. Switching to l or L mode muted the bogey. So that proves that L mode is working, for the X false at the bank, but why isn't it muting the X transmitter at the traffic light, even when I'm far away and it's only a 1 dot strength?
Any ideas? Does anyone "know" V1's logic mode algorithm for determining what X bogeys are to be filtered or not filtered?
